CASABLANCA– The International Arab Society of Certified Accountants (IASCA) organized a specialized workshop entitled “Financial Intelligence for Senior Executives and Decision-Makers” in Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco. The workshop aimed to strengthen the financial capabilities of executive leaders, enabling them to interpret and analyze financial data in depth, leverage financial information in strategic decision-making, and improve institutional performance.
The workshop covered techniques for conducting in-depth reviews of financial statements and identifying the most significant financial indicators requiring the attention of senior executives. It also addressed the analysis of financial statements using financial ratios and their application in evaluating financial performance, measuring operational efficiency, and supporting managerial and investment decisions.
The workshop further featured an executive discussion session addressing the key financial challenges facing businesses and practical approaches to overcoming them. Particular emphasis was placed on the role of financial analysis in anticipating risks, enhancing resource management efficiency, and achieving financial sustainability.
The workshop also explored performance measurement in light of the requirements of International Financial Reporting Standard IFRS 18, “Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements.” Discussions highlighted the importance of understanding the changes introduced by the Standard in the presentation and disclosure of financial performance, contributing to greater transparency, improved comparability among companies, and the provision of more useful financial information to users of financial statements.
This workshop forms part of IASCA’s ongoing efforts to develop the financial and accounting skills of executive leaders and promote the effective use of financial information in decision-making. These efforts aim to keep pace with developments in international financial reporting standards, strengthen institutions’ ability to address challenges, and support the achievement of their strategic objectives.
